The story of the temple’s origins

Kottilingeshwara, also known as the temple of Ten Million of Shiva Lingas, is in the Kolar district of Karnataka. The origins of this temple go to the period when the saint known as Bhakta Manjunath Sharma was struck by a vision and decided to construct a temple using one million Shivlingas. He achieved this dream with the help of his friends and family members, and the temple we have today was built in 1980.
